Our Technology and Innovation team is the largest legal team in Ireland dedicated to specialist data protection, IT and intellectual property law. Our practice is market leading in our key focus areas and we are continually building our range of skills and resources to meet the specialist requirements of our clients.
We have a large body of domestic and international clients who share a common purpose – they expect highly commercial, responsive and solution-focused advice from a team of partners and associates offering a premier level of experience and expertise within the Irish market.
Lawyers from our Technology and Innovation Group are especially active in our international practice where we enjoy a particularly rich heritage. We have been privileged to advise many US technology companies establishing and scaling their businesses from a base within Ireland. We also advise these clients on ongoing legal compliance in key areas such as data protection and export control. Our client base also includes some of Ireland’s largest and fastest growing domestic technology companies.
Relevant Experience
- Intellectual Property: Advising on licensing and transfers of intellectual property rights (including tax effective international IP structures), IP enforcement strategies and actions, resolving IP disputes, advising on high value IP commercialisation projects and other innovative IP exploitation models
- Privacy, Data Protection & Information Management: Advising on EU data protection strategies for multinationals, data breach response incidents, cyber-liability issues, responding to and defending enforcement actions taken by the Data Protection Commission, advising on practical means of complying with data protection legislation
- Technology Contracts & Disputes: Advising on cloud deployment strategies and contracts, high value IT procurements and outsourcings, mediating and litigating IT disputes and compliance with regulatory standards
- Technology Transactions: Advising technology companies pursuing an aggressive growth strategy from Ireland including advising on fundraisings through to exit, joint ventures, strategic partnerships etc.
