Chris is a partner in the Corporate Department. He specialises in corporate finance, advising international and domestic listed, public and private companies on all aspects of company law, including on compliance and governance issues. He has extensive experience of advising on corporate migrations to Ireland, public takeovers and schemes of arrangement, ECM transactions and private equity.  Prior to joining the firm, Chris trained and worked in London, most recently in the London office of a leading US law firm.


In recent years, Chris has advised:

  • Cooper Industries plc on its takeover by Eaton Corporation under a new NYSE listed Irish holding company
  • Warner Chilcott plc on its takeover by Actavis, Inc. under a new NYSE listed Irish holding company
  • Actavis plc on its acquisition of Forest Laboratories, Inc.
  • Alkermes, Inc. on its merger with the drug delivery business of Elan Corporation, plc, resulting in a new NASDAQ listed Irish group holding company
  • Seagate on the acquisition of Samsung’s hard drive business
  • Alkermes plc on an underwritten offering of its shares
  • A number of US listed companies (on both NYSE and NASDAQ) on their migrations to Ireland, including the insertion of a new Irish incorporated and resident holding company (including Cooper Industries, Seagate Technology and Global Indemnity)
  • Centerbridge Partners, L.P. on its substantial equity investment in syncreon Holdings Limited
  • A number of issuers and underwriters on IPOs
  • Osteologix, Inc. on its IP reorganisation and migration to Ireland
  • A number of listed companies on their court approved reductions of share capital
  • A number of listed companies on compliance, accounting and corporate governance issues
  • Numerous foreign private equity investors on significant investments in and acquisitions of Irish companies or businesses
  • A number of international bidders, MBO teams and public company targets (listed on the Irish Stock Exchange, London Stock Exchange, NYSE and NASDAQ) in respect of numerous takeovers (in the technology, food and drink, transport, manufacturing, insurance and pensions/trust administration sectors) under the Irish takeover regime
  • A number of financial advisers on numerous public offers
  • An international utility company on the establishment of its Irish subsidiaries, global cash pooling arrangements and reorganisation
  • Premier Foods plc on the acquisition of Campbell’s Irish business
  • UTV Media Group plc on a Class 1 acquisition and the Irish aspects of its rights issue
  • A private equity house on the divestment of its substantial holding in Aryzta, the Irish and Swiss food company
