Our dedicated Aviation and Asset Finance Group is led by partners who have market-leading knowledge and experience. We are a full service law firm with the capability to provide a 360 Irish law service to operating lessors, lenders, finance lessors and lessees and export credit agencies on all aspects of their business.
Our Aviation and Asset Finance Group works closely with colleagues across the firm to deliver a product that adds value to all elements of our clients’ operations. We have extensive experience across all areas of the industry including:
- Acting for international and domestic aircraft owners, lessors and financiers on all Irish law aspects of cross-border aircraft and transport financing and leasing
- Advising on the establishment and ongoing day to day operations of aircraft leasing platforms in Ireland
- Advising on domestic and cross-border tax-based leasing transactions
- Advising on company mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures investments and asset sales and novations
- Advising on a wide variety of finance transactions to include debt facilities, ABS financings, warehouse financings and other capital market products
- Advising on regulatory matters including airport charges, ground handling, ownership of airlines and licensing of aircraft, sanctions and export controls
- Advising in relation to the Cape Town Convention
- Working with colleagues in our Litigation, Disputes and Investigations Practice in relation to aircraft repossessions
- Working with colleagues in our Restructuring and Insolvency practice in relation to aviations related restructurings and insolvencies
Relevant Experience
- Advised steering committee of creditors to Nordic Aviation Capital group on all Irish law matters in connection with Nordic’s Irish scheme of arrangement
- Advised Deutsche Lufthansa AG its EUR€3bn state-guaranteed loan from state bank KfW and a syndicate of other private banks
- Advising Ryanair on a wide variety of ongoing corporate, finance, tax, aviation and litigation matters including the Irish aspects of is 2020 EMTN programme
- Advised Sumitomo Mitsui Finance and Leasing Company, Limited on the establishment of its landmark $230 million helicopter leasing joint venture with Lease Corporation International
- Advised GA Telesis, LLC on the establishment of its aircraft leasing platform in Ireland and its subsequent acquisition of aircraft from BOC Aviation
- Advised Industrial and Commercial Bank of China on the establishment and update of its MTN Programme
- Advised Flexam Invest on its investment in a joint venture vehicle with Lease Corporation International
