  • Advising the Irish Government on its response to the banking crisis including the State guarantee, the nationalisation of Anglo Irish Bank and the recapitalisation of AIB, Bank of Ireland, EBS Building Society and Irish Nationwide Building Society
  • Advising the adhoc committee of noteholders in the Chapter 11 and Examinership of Weatherford International plc
  • Advising Chartered Land and its principal shareholders in relation to the consensual restructuring of debts acquired by an Allianz/Hammerson plc joint venture which involved the sale of the Jewel portfolio assets (including Dundrum Town Centre among other prime retail assets)
  • Advising the largest holder of notes in the Balantyne Reinsurance scheme of arrangement which restructured USD1.6 billion in debt
  • Advising the board of directors of Avaya Corporation’s Irish subsidiaries in relation to the Irish law implications of the Chapter 11 filing by its US parent, and the successful emergence from those bankruptcy proceedings
  • Advising the liquidator on all aspects of the recent Asia Pulp Paper Group subsidiaries’ debt restructuring including a scheme of arrangement used to deliver the restructuring
  • Advising the adhoc committee of noteholders in relation to the restructuring of eTrawler, trading as CarTrawler
  • Advising the steering committee on the Irish law aspects of the Waypoint Group Chapter 11
  • Advising Eircom on its €2.4 billion restructuring through Examinership
  • Advising the Central Bank of Ireland on all matters relating to the exercise of its resolution powers under the Central Bank and Credit Institutions (Resolution) Act 2011, BRRD and resolution generally. Cases to date include advising the Central Bank on directed transfers of the business and undertakings of various credit unions, liquidations of credit unions and the recent administration and subsequent liquidation of CBL Insurance Europe DAC
  • Advising the Department of Finance on the special liquidation of Irish Bank Resolution Corporation Limited, including the drafting of the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation Act 2013 and Ministerial Instructions and Directions issued to the special liquidators under that Act
