Brendan is a partner in our Finance Department and is part of the firm’s Financial Regulatory and Capital Markets Groups.
Brendan advises a range of Irish and international clients on financial markets infrastructure, regulatory capital, trustee and agency law, securities regulation and debt capital markets matters. Brendan also regularly advises corporate and institutional clients on netting, collateral and hedging issues and capital management structures.
Relevant Experience
- Advising a number of Irish credit institutions on regulatory capital issuance and requirements under the EU Capital Requirements Regulation
- Acting for trustees on a range of private and public securitisations and bond issuances
- Advising financial institutions on cash pooling and netting arrangements
- Advising Euroclear in relation to Irish Brexit matters and long-term solutions for settlement of Irish securities
- Advising the investment banks acting as arrangers on syndicated bond issuances by the Government of Ireland / National Treasury Management Agency
- Advising a range of corporate and financial institution clients on EMIR compliance
- Advising Bank of Ireland on Mespil Securities and Grattan Securities DAC synthetic securitisations
- Advising a number of central securities depositories on the EU CSD Regulation
- Advising a number of financial institutions on repurchase/derivative transactions with Irish public bodies
- Acting for Amarin Corporation plc in relation to treasury matters including issue and restructure of convertible notes
