Ciaran is Head of Governance and Consulting Services, including our Governance Risk and Compliance Consulting team. He has over 20 years’ experience in professional and consulting services.

His areas of expertise include risk transformation, governance reviews, regulatory implementation and data governance across a wide range of industries, primarily within the financial services sector.

Ciaran works with a multi-disciplinary team to support clients in areas such as regulatory implementation, governance, risk and regulatory reporting and risk transformation.

Previously, Ciaran spent eight years in a senior leadership position in the Risk Consulting team of a professional services firm.

Relevant Experience

Ciaran’s direct relevant experience includes:

  • Head of Internal Audit for Saol Assurance DAC (trading as AIB Life, PCF-13)
  • Head of Internal Audit for Boku Network Services IE Limited (PCF-13)
  • Assisting an Irish MiFID firm in identifying and addressing issues around their Corporate Governance and Risk Management practices arising from multiple CBI regulatory findings. This involved executing a detailed root cause analysis and review of their approach to corporate governance and developing and executing a CBI-approved remediation plan.
  • Advising an Irish regulated bank on their approach to governance and oversight of a newly acquired regulated entity. He delivered detailed work around how control functions, including risk, compliance and internal audit, should interact between the two organisations and their own Boards and Executive Committees.
  • Development of Risk Management Frameworks, Risk Appetite Frameworks and Risk Appetite Statements (and related reporting practices) for many regulated financial services entities.
  • Development of Data Governance Frameworks and Policies and related regulatory implementation programme for Irish pillar bank.
