David is a Partner in the firm’s Finance Group and Head of the London office. David specialises in structuring, negotiating, implementing and restructuring a range of finance transactions. David acts for both financial institutions and borrowers / sponsors across a wide range of domestic and cross-border finance transactions and has extensive experience in advising lenders on their restructuring and enforcement options. These transactions include asset, property and development finance, secured and unsecured lending and acquisition facilities, in bilateral, club and syndicated deals.


  • Advised IBRC (In Special Liquidation) and the Special Liquidators in relation to the sale of large portions of its commercial real estate loan book.
  • Advised Green Property in relation to refinancing of its credit facilities totalling approximately €750 million.
  • Advised an Irish bank in relation to the receivership of a Dublin hotel and in relation to High Court proceedings arising out of the receivership.
  • Advised Bank of Ireland and KBC Bank Ireland in relation to a refinance of senior debt in an amount of over €100 million for an Irish property investment group.
  • Advised Lone Star on the acquisition of an Irish loan portfolio.
  • Advised Morgan Stanley in relation to the provision of facilities in excess of €100 million with regard to the acquisition of commercial real estate in Dublin.
  • Advised Cap Vest in relation to the financing of a series of large corporate acquisitions.
  • Advised Valco Foods on the finance aspects of the acquisition of Jacob Fruitfield and a number of other businesses.
  • Advising a property investment and development group in relation to debt and equity financing for the acquisition and development of a number of sites in the Dublin area.
  • Advised Starwood Capital and Hibernia Reit Plc on the finance aspects of a joint venture on a large mixed use real estate development project.
