10/09/2020 Awards

We are very pleased to have won five awards at this year’s Women in Business Law Awards Europe 2020. The awards were announced at a virtual ceremony today. The awards celebrate women lawyers across Europe who are leaders in their field. They also recognise firms for their efforts in promoting gender diversity and the advancement of women in the legal profession.

Maura McLaughlin, partner, was awarded Best in Capital Markets: Equity. Maura is a partner in the firm’s Corporate and M&A team, and one of the firm’s alumni partners. Amongst her highlights in 2019 she advised Flutter Entertainment on its recommended all-share combination with The Stars Group and Ingersoll Rand on the spinoff of its industrial business and its subsequent merger with Gardner Denver Inc. Maura mentors senior women associates at Arthur Cox as part of the Women in the Firm initiative, and provides mentoring externally as part of the Outstanding programme, which supports LGBTQ+ people in the workplace.

Deirdre O’Mahony, partner, was awarded Rising Star in Litigation. Deirdre is a partner in our Litigation, Dispute Resolution and Investigations Group specialising in investigations, commercial and regulatory disputes and white collar crime.  Deirdre is recognised as a leading lawyer of her generation due to her technical and strategic ability and market-leading experience in significant high-value disputes and investigations across a range of sectors for over 10 years.  She is a founding member of the Ireland Chapter of the Women’s White Collar Defense Association (WWCDA), the Irish representative member of the ECBA Anti-Corruption Europe Project and a member of Lex Mundi Cross-Border Investigations: Business Crimes and Compliance Group.  Deirdre is recognised as an expert in white collar crime in the Euromoney Expert Guide for 2020 and is also an accredited CEDR mediator.
