Paddy brings extensive experience advising on structured finance and securitisation transactions, with a particular focus on collateralised loan obligations (“CLOs”), private credit and asset-based finance. He advises banks, alternative lenders, asset managers, investors and issuers on a broad range of Irish and cross-border transactions, including in relation to the structuring, establishment, financing and operation of Irish special purpose vehicles (“SPVs”) and other Irish investment structures.

He is recognised by leading legal directories including Chambers and Partners, Legal 500 and IFLR1000. Paddy is joined at Arthur Cox by Clare Mannion, Of Counsel in the Structured Finance and Securitisation Group.

Paddy Rath commented: “Arthur Cox has an excellent reputation for advising on complex and innovative transactions in the structured finance and securitisation space. As securitisation technology continues to evolve and be deployed in new and exciting areas of finance, I look forward to working with colleagues across the firm to help clients navigate their most important transactions.”

Aiden Small, Partner in our Structured Finance and Securitisation Group, said, “We are delighted to welcome Paddy to the firm. He is widely recognised for his expertise and his appointment further strengthens our offering in structured finance and securitisation. We continue to invest in and grow our team, expanding the breadth and depth of services we provide to clients. Paddy’s experience and market profile will be a valuable addition as we continue to build on that momentum.”

Geoff Moore, Managing Partner, commented: “Paddy’s appointment reflects our continued commitment to investing in market-leading talent and strengthening the specialist expertise available to our clients in Ireland and internationally. His arrival is another important step in the growth of our Structured Finance and Securitisation practice and complements the continued development of our Corporate Services business. We are very pleased to welcome Paddy to Arthur Cox.”

Paddy will reconnect in his new role with Fiona de Lacy, Managing Director, with whom he has worked in the past. Fiona joined Arthur Cox in 2025 to launch the Corporate Services business, complementing our legal, tax and listing offering for SPVs. Our combined legal and corporate services offering provides clients in the CLO and broader structured finance and securitisation market with a fully integrated service.

Prior to joining Arthur Cox, Paddy was a partner at a leading international financial services law firm.
