The International Bar Association (IBA) Healthcare and Life Sciences Law Committee have produced a survey on healthcare financing and reimbursement, as part of a legal guide that comprises a global review of major topics and trends concerning healthcare financing and reimbursement across more than 50 countries.

Our Life Sciences Group are featured in the Ireland section of the 2025 survey. Colin Kavanagh (Partner), Orla Clayton (Of Counsel), Bridget Clinton (Senior Associate) and associates Robert Byrne, Aoibhín Ní Dhubháin, and Brónach Rafferty, provide an insightful overview of Ireland’s healthcare financing and reimbursement landscape.

They highlight the dual public and private healthcare systems, key legal frameworks such as the Health Act 2013, and the roles of regulatory bodies like the Health Service Executive (HSE) and the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA), as well as the impact of COVID-19 on healthcare spending, and ongoing legislative developments.
