Dr Thomas B Courtney appointed Adjunct Professor of Law at NUI Galway
Arthur Cox is pleased to announce that Dr Thomas B Courtney has been appointed as Adjunct Professor of Law at NUI Galway.
Dr Courtney is a Partner in the firm’s Corporate Group and is Head of the Company Compliance and Governance Practice. He is also Chairperson of the Statutory Company Law Review Group and a member of the EU Commission’s Advisory Group on Company Law and Corporate Governance. He is widely acknowledged as a leading national authority on the law of corporations, including the Companies Acts, one of the most complex and voluminous bodies of Irish statutory law.
Dr Courtney is a former graduate of NUI Galway and will deliver a lecture on “Effective security for corporate obligations: the creation and registration of company charges.”
The lecture will take place on Wednesday, 7 February at 4pm in the Human Biology Building at NUI Galway. It will formally mark Dr Courtney’s appointment and launch two new masters programmes available at the School of Law from September 2018.
