Authors: Rob Corbet, Colin Rooney, Caroline O’Gorman and Olivia Mullooly

As part of the PLC multi-jurisdictional guide to data protection, we have published our overview of data protection rules and principles for Ireland.  This outlines details on the obligations of data controllers including the precautions they must take when dealing with third party processors or when transferring data internationally.  It provides information on where the requirement to obtain the consent of data subject arises and also on managing data subject access requests.  It also covers cookies and spam and the enforcement powers of the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
