Direct Marketing Consents – What are the Rules?


Ireland’s direct marketing laws were updated in 2011 in an attempt to reduce the scourge of unsolicited email, SMS and phone calls. Two years on, have they succeeded in achieving their desired effect or have they instead become a burden on SMEs and other businesses who are struggling to commercialise their existing and future customer base?
