Mary is a tax director and knowledge lawyer in the firm’s Tax Group, leading the knowledge and policy function of the Group.

She has extensive experience in corporate and international tax working in private practice, international institutions and government affairs.

Mary has responsibility for developing and sharing tax technical, legal and commercial awareness within the group and providing bespoke horizon-scanning for clients. She represents the Tax Group in discussions with industry and government on key developments that impact our clients.  

Mary provides strategic tax and policy advice to clients and engages with the Irish authorities on the development of Irish tax legislation, including the introduction of the dividend participation exemption and the ongoing review of interest deductibility.

She has advised clients and engaged extensively on the evolving Pillar Two regime and the new OECD Side by Side Package.

Prior to joining the firm, Mary worked as a tax specialist in the European Commission, where her experience included, advising on the European development of the OECD Two-Pillar Solution, including digital services taxation and the Pillar Two Directive. She was case handler representing the European Commission in a number of fiscal state aid cases before the European Courts.
