My name is Stephanie Hanrahan and I am a partner in the Funds and Asset Management Group at Arthur Cox. Our group advises on the establishment and ongoing operation of Irish investment funds, including any regulatory developments that apply to Irish funds.
We also advise on the establishment and operation of fund management companies and we advise institutional investors on their investments into Irish funds. Our group advises on the full spectrum of asset classes on the private or alternative investment fund side, on private equity, private credit, venture capital, infrastructure, real estate funds, and on the retailer usage side we advise on equity fixed income and our group has a particular focus on ETFs.
I particularly enjoy the work that I do because it’s extremely varied. One day you can be working on a transaction to establish an Irish fund, the next year working with the debt finance team to put a fund financing in place, and the following day you are interpreting legislation and applying that to someone’s business.
I enjoy the fact that we go on a journey with our clients and get to know them throughout the life cycle of their funds, from the very outset in establishing the fund to advising them on issues that arise. We see them at board meetings and hear about the performance of the fund.
Ireland is a leading European fund establishment jurisdiction and the Irish fund industry continues to grow and develop, so it’s really exciting to be a part of that.
