Gráinne is a senior associate in our Environment and Planning Group.

Gráinne has a special focus on project consenting and environmental licensing in Ireland, having advised the Environmental Protection Agency and An Bord Pleanála for a number of years prior to joining Arthur Cox, and more recently advising the State and private developers on applications for consent/licences.

She advises commercial, semi-state and state clients on complex planning applications (renewable energy, large scale residential development, strategic infrastructure), planning appeals, injunctions, judicial review proceedings, maritime development, environmental licensing, industrial emissions, water abstraction, dumping at sea, greenhouse gas reporting, carbon trading, waste law, water law, extended producer responsibility and circular economy initiatives, WEEE, environmental law prosecutions and environmental liability.

Gráinne has a keen interest in the renewables sector, with a special focus in offshore wind, and in circular economy initiatives. Gráinne is also Chairperson of the Irish Environmental Law Association.
