Every three years at Arthur Cox, the firm selects three principal charity partners, voted on by our people. We are pleased to announce three new principal charity partners that the firm will work with on fundraising efforts for the coming years.

We are delighted to partner with the following three charities:

Partnering with charities is an important part of Arthur Cox’s Sustainable Business Programme. As part of this programme, the firm strives to give back to the community in a number of ways: through partnerships with charities, volunteering activities, support of educational institutions and the arts and through the provision of pro bono legal services to those who need it most.

Barretstown

Barretstown offers free, specially designed camps and programmes for children and their families living with a serious illness – supported behind the scenes by 24 hour on site medical and nursing care.

The camp is a proud member of the SeriousFun Children’s Network, founded by actor Paul Newman over three decades ago. He had a vision: imagine if children living with serious illness had the chance to simply be children. To just have fun. So he started a camp where kids could, in his words, “raise a little hell.”

Established in 1994, with the generous donation of our 500 acre estate by the Irish Government, Barretstown was the first camp of its kind to be opened outside the USA and the third camp founded by Paul. Since then, the camp has welcomed over 125,000 campers.

Friends of the Elderly

Friends of the Elderly is an Irish volunteer-based charity, established in 1980, that plays a vital role in addressing the needs of an ageing population. As the number of older people continues to grow, so too does the need for meaningful connections and community support. The charity is dedicated to promoting positive ageing by offering friendship, companionship, and lifelong relationships to older adults who may feel isolated or live alone.

Friends of the Elderly’s social engagement programmes, including home visitation, the friendly call service, social clubs, and day trips, are designed to combat loneliness and foster connection. Last year, the charity supported nearly 1100 older men and women, all thanks to the dedication of over 340 volunteers.

The Marie Keating Foundation

Following their mother Marie’s death from breast cancer in 1998, the Keating family promised to provide the people of Ireland with vital information, advice and support on the signs and symptoms of cancer and help to prevent cancer or detect it at its earliest stages. The Marie Keating Foundation was established in her memory and with this central ambition in mind.

Today, the Marie Keating Foundation are one of the leading voices in Ireland for cancer prevention, awareness and support. The foundation is committed to being there for people diagnosed with cancer, and their families.

Through their information and support services, the foundation reaches thousands of people a year, giving education, information and advice focused on cancer prevention and early detection, as well as providing support services and financial assistance to those living with and beyond cancer.
