Hugh McCarthy, Associate, Technology and Innovation, has contributed to a three-part series on the GDPR for Data Protection Ireland.

The General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’) imposes a near impossible legislative task on the EU Member States via Article 85, which requires them to introduce national laws to reconcile two fundamental rights: the GDPR’s right to data protection, and the human right to freedom of expression and information (‘FOE’).
