Séamus has 25 years experience in advising employers, in the private, public and voluntary sectors, on all employment law and industrial relations issues arising in the employer/employee and employer/trade union relationship and in representing employers in disputes with employees, ex employees, applicants for employment and trade unions in Courts and Tribunals including the Rights Commissioner Service, the Labour Court, the Employment Appeals Tribunal, the Equality Tribunal, the Circuit Court, the High Court, the Supreme Court and the European Court of Justice.
Séamus develops and delivers employment and industrial relations law training to human resources managers, senior management and in-house counsel on all aspects of employment law. This training involves updating clients on developments in employment legislation, codes of practice and arising from significant decisions of the Superior Courts and Tribunals.
Experience
Séamus has extensive experience in advising on all aspects of the termination of employment including redundancy and collective redundancy, unfair dismissal, wrongful dismissal and constructive dismissal. He provides expert support to the firm’s corporate clients on the various employment law issues arising in the context of mergers and acquisitions. This includes in depth due diligence exercises, compliance reviews, negotiating employee-related indemnities and warranties and advising on the applicability of the European Communities (Protection of Employees on Transfer of Undertakings) Regulations 2003 (the "TUPE Regulations").
