Niamh has over 20 years experience in contentious and non-contentious construction law. She has advised on many of the major infrastructure and construction projects in Ireland including those procured through public private partnerships. Prior to joining Arthur Cox Niamh was head of the Construction Department in a City of London law firm.
Experience
Niamh's experience includes advising the following:
- Viridian Group on the construction, operation and maintenance and long term service arrangements for the 343MW CCGT Huntstown Phase I Power Project and the 401.5MW CCGT Huntstown Phase II Power Project.
- Treasury Holdings on the redevelopment of Spencer Dock.
- The promoters of the National Conference Centre on the construction and the operation and maintenance elements of the transaction (Infrastructure Journal PPP Deal of the Year 2007, Project Finance International European Leisure PPP Deal of the Year 2007).
- The funders on the first Schools PPP Project to include review of all construction and operational issues.
- The funders on the Cork School of Music Project.
- The procuring authority for wastewater schemes in Meath, Tipperary and Cavan .
- EcoWind Power on the construction of their windfarm projects in Ireland.
- Irish Rail on the Cuttings and Embankment Network upgrade and the Kildare Route Project.
- The Department of Communications, Marine and Natural Resources on the Metropolitan Area Networks PPP.
- The Department of Public Enterprise (as it was) in relation to strategies for the future procurement of light railways and metro in particular, as public private partnerships.
- Lenders in respect of construction of developments including the Ritz Carlton Hotel Powerscourt, Whitewater Shopping Centre, Newbridge, and Clancy Barracks Redevelopment.
- International and Irish pharmaceutical companies on new and redeveloped manufacturing facilities.
- Wincanton on the development of automated distribution warehouses in the UK.
