Mark acts for a large number of public and private companies and financial institutions.  He advises on public and private M&A transactions, restructurings and joint ventures, with a particular emphasis on cross border transactions and the financial sector.  Mark also has extensive experience in advising on leveraged and structured finance transactions and debt capital markets issuances.

Examples of recent corporate, M&A and finance transactions that Mark advised on include:

Corporate/M&A

• Acted for a number of major financial institutions, including Merrill Lynch, Citigroup and Bank of Ireland, on the establishment of financial services joint ventures in Ireland and on various intra-group restructuring transactions
• Advised on the secondary MBO of Green Property following its €1 billion+ take-private
• Acting for Dublin Airport Authority plc on the implementation of the government-announced restructuring of the group
• Advised UBS and Merrill Lynch as financial advisers, sponsors and underwriters on the demutualisation, initial public offering and Stg£4.65 billion listing of Standard Life

Finance

• Acted for Rodinheights plc on the €775 million financing of its real estate portfolio, one the largest property finance transactions of its kind in Ireland
• Regularly advises a number of borrowers/issuers and international banks, including Goldman Sachs, Citibank, JPMorgan, Barclays Capital, ING, CIBC, Credit Suisse, Societe Generale and BNP, on a range of leveraged and structured finance transactions and debt capital markets issues
• Advised on Ireland’s first mortgage-backed building society securitisation, the first whole business securitisation and the first investment grade eurobond issue by an Irish company outside the financial sector
