Kevin Langford is a Partner in the firm’s Employment Law Group. He is an experienced employment lawyer who places a lot of emphasis on offering practical and pragmatic solutions to clients.
Kevin advises corporate clients in a wide range of sectors including financial institutions, pharmaceutical and healthcare companies, manufacturing and distribution companies, retail outlets, statutory bodies, Governmental and public institutions, universities, schools and hospitals. He also advises law firms in other jurisdictions on matters relating to Irish employment law.
Kevin acts for clients in various employment claims such as unfair dismissal, equality/discrimination, occupational stress, fixed-term and part-time work, health & safety, restraint of trade, strikes and picketing. He regularly represents clients before the Employment Appeals Tribunal, the Labour Court, the Labour Relations Commission, the Equality Tribunal and the civil courts. Kevin also advises clients on a whole range of employment law and industrial relations issues including the negotiation of severance packages with senior executives, managing disciplinary and grievance issues and dealing with complaints of bullying and harassment in the workplace.
Kevin frequently assists clients with restructuring and redundancy programmes. He also advises on the employment law aspects of corporate transactions such as mergers & acquisitions and business transfers involving the transfer of undertakings regulations.
Kevin provides specialist employment law training to clients. He frequently speaks at conferences and seminars and provides lectures to the Law Society including on its Employment Law Diploma. He regularly contributes to national and international employment law publications.
Kevin joined Arthur Cox in 2001, having previously held the position of in-house legal advisor with the Irish Business and Employers Confederation. He was made a partner in the Employment Law Group in 2003.
