Expertise
Geoff is a partner in the Corporate Department. He specialises in corporate finance, advising on public offerings, private placements, mergers and acquisitions (both public and private) and Stock Exchange matters. He also advises on corporate governance matters.
Prior to joining Arthur Cox, Geoff worked with the Law Reform Commission of Ireland. He apprenticed at Arthur Cox, following which he practiced in the Corporate Finance Group of a leading New York firm. He rejoined Arthur Cox in 2002.
Experience
In recent years, Geoff has advised:
- Lloyds Banking Group plc on the cross-border merger of Bank of Scotland (Ireland) Limited into Bank of Scotland plc and the related outsourcing agreement entered into with Certus
- Bank of Ireland on its recapitalisations and its participation in NAMA
- CRH plc on the disposal of its insulation and magnesia businesses
- Greencore Group plc on the disposals of its malt and mineral water businesses
- Johnson & Johnson on its investment in Elan Corporation, plc and on its related acquisition of assets related to the Alzheimer's Immunotherapy Program from Elan
- FEXCO on the disposal of its money transfer business to Western Union
- Bord Gáis Éireann on the acquisition of Sorne Wind, a 32 megawatt capacity windfarm
- Viridian Power and Energy on the acquisition of Eco Wind Power, the owner of five operative windfarms and 14 pipeline projects
- eircom on the disposal of its masts portfolio to Towercom Holdings
- various local authorities on the disposals of their waste collection businesses
