Connor practices in corporate and commercial law with particular emphasis on corporate finance, domestic and cross border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, reorganisations and commercial agreements.

 

Experience

Connor has acted for various domestic and international businesses. He has worked on significant transactions with the following clients:

  • Northern Rock plc on the sale of its Irish business
  • CRH plc on the acquisition of a controlling interest in a cement business in Ukraine
  • Fyffes plc on the acquisition of interests in businesses throughout South America
  • The National Treasury Management Agency on the transfer of €15.8 billion of deposits and assets from (i) Irish Nationwide Building Society to Irish Life & Permanent plc (€3.6 billion) and (ii) from Anglo Irish Bank Corporation Limited to Allied Irish Banks plc (€12.2 billion).
  • NTR plc on the sale of its interest in the M1 motorway and the East Link bridge to DIF and of other roads concessions to Egis  
  • PFH Technology in relation to the acquisition of the Irish business of Redstone plc
  • Total Produce plc in relation to the acquisition of the business of Groomes Fresh Produce
  • NTR plc on the circa £135 million sale of  the waste business Greenstar UK to the Biffa Group
  • The Department of Finance on aspects of its €3.5 billion recapitalisation of the Bank of Ireland and on other issues relating to certain financial institutions in Ireland
  • Willis Group in relation to the migration of its corporate headquarters to Ireland
  • Mars Inc. on the Irish aspects of its acquisition of Wrigley
  • A number of financial institutions including Britannia, BAWAG, Citi, Hypo Vereinsbank, Merrill Lynch and Royal Bank of Scotland on various intra-group restructuring transactions
  • MasterCard on its acquisition of Orbiscom Limited (circa US$100 million)
  • NTR plc on the grant back to the National Roads Authority of the West-Link concession and subsequent securitisation with Morgan Stanley (circa €500 million)
  • Siemens on the Irish law aspects of its Networks joint venture with Nokia
  • The sale of the wind energy business Airtricity to Scottish and Southern Energy plc (€1.8 billion)
  • NTR plc on its acquisition of a controlling interest in a solar energy business (US$100 million)
  • Reox Holdings plc on the sale of its consumer foods division to Kerry Group plc
  • Texas Pacific Group on the Irish aspects of its acquisition of the Transfusion Therapies Business of Baxter
  • Treasury Holdings on the corporate aspects of its sale of a number of property companies to Real Estate Opportunities Limited
  • Bunzl plc on its acquisition of Irish Merchants
