The Limits of Computers in Electronic Discovery
As anyone even peripherally involved in litigation can tell you, the advent of modern computer systems in recent times has greatly increased the quantity and complexity of the discovery process. Even as relatively recently as 20 years ago a complex case would have involved no more than a few hundred documents. Nowadays, modern computer system ensure that even routine cases can require the analysis of gigabytes of documentary data.
