In June 2009 the Irish Stock Exchange (the “ISE”) launched the Global Exchange Market (“GEM”). GEM is an exchange-regulated market which meets the criteria of a Multilateral Trading Facility (“MTF”) within the meaning of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (“MiFID”) and is operated under the prudential supervision of the ISE. GEM is a successor market to the Alternative Securities Market (the “ASM”).
