Important Change: Extending the Life of your Planning Permission, March 2010
19.03.2010
The new Planning and Development (Amendment) Bill 2009 (the “Planning Bill”) was first presented to Seanad Éireann on 29 May 2009 and is expected to come into force in the first half of 2010. If enacted in its current form, it will no longer be possible for developers to apply for an extension to the life of a planning permission that has previously been extended. Currently, it is possible to secure second and subsequent extensions where a development has been delayed for reasons outside a developer's control.
