Our Construction & Engineering Group combines contentious and non-contentious expertise and we understand the ever-changing commercial objectives and imperatives of our clients. Our experience spans the breadth of sectors, including process engineering and manufacturing, energy, transport, water, residential and commercial and general infrastructure sectors. Our clients include employers and developers from the private sector, contracting authorities from the public sector, contractors and sub-contractors, acting individually or in a consortium, professional construction consultants, insurance companies, receivers, liquidators and funding institutions.
The Construction & Engineering Group is headed by Niav O’Higgins, who together with Partner Tim Kinney, works with a strong team of Senior Associates, Associate Solicitors and Consultants. All members of the Group are industry specialists and draw on a wide variety of skills and experience from both within the Group and from other groups within Arthur Cox. We assist clients in balancing risk and opportunity to achieve their commercial objectives on time and within budget. We co-ordinate our knowledge and experience to work as part of the project team, with the focus on keeping deals together and facilitating the smooth delivery of projects.
In these challenging times, when disputes are on the increase, our contentious experience enables us to provide pragmatic and focused advice, which promotes and facilitates early resolution. We have a dedicated team of lawyers who specialise in contentious matters.. We focus on promoting early case assessment and effective dispute resolution strategies to our clients. The Construction & Engineering Group advises on all forms of ADR including mediation, conciliation, expert determination, adjudication, arbitration as well as advising in High Court and Commercial Court proceedings.
