Ultan advises both financial institutions and borrowers on a wide range of domestic and international finance transactions including secured and unsecured lending, asset/property finance, acquisition finance, syndicated loans and structured finance. Ultan trained with Arthur Cox having previously being admitted in New York where he completed a master’s degree in Banking and Corporate Finance at Fordham University and also worked as in-house counsel for a New York not-for-profit organisation.

Experience

  • Acting for Bank of Ireland on the restructuring and amendment of facilities to a corporate hotel owning group
  • Acting for Ulster Bank in connection with their financing of the acquisition by Connacht Gold Cooperative Society Limited of certain subsidiaries and business of Donegal Creameries plc
  • Acting for Ulster Bank in connection with the financing of the acquisition by the Helix Healthcare Group of the business of pharmaSys Limited, a UK company
  • Advising Citibank International on Irish aspects of the amending and restating of existing facilities in connection with a corporate re-organisation of the WPP Group
  • Acting for various corporates including, but not limited to, Warner-Chilcott plc, Ingersoll-Rand plc, Valeant Ireland, Cooper Industries plc, Accenture plc, Covidien plc and Seagate Technology plc in connection with the Irish aspects of their financing arrangements
  • Acting for CVC Capital Partners in connection with Irish aspects of the financing of the acquisition of the Delachaux Group
  • Acting for SEN/Enterasys in connection with the issuance of a high yield bond and the provision of credit facilities
  • Advising various financial institutions on the drafting of their standard loan and security documentation
  • Acting for various lenders and borrowers in the restructuring of their loan and security arrangements and acting for lenders through the enforcement process
  • Advising lenders in relation to the drafting of template facility letters, terms and conditions and security documents
