trainee solicitor programme
your training programme
One of our strengths is the diversity and individuality of our people. To reflect this, each trainee solicitor's programme is different. We aim to tailor your training programme to best nurture and develop your individual interests and talents. With this in mind, we provide you with the opportunity to work in five different practice groups and to complete at least one rotation in each of our four major practice fields: Commercial, Finance, Litigation and Property.
what we can do for you
At Arthur Cox our goal is to provide you with the best legal and professional training possible. We regard our trainees as the future solicitors and partners of the firm. For this reason, at every stage of your training programme, you will be involved in work of the highest calibre in an environment designed to support your professional growth and development.
secondments
We believe that it is in our Dublin office that our trainee solicitors receive the most comprehensive legal training available. However, we also provide opportunities for some of our trainee solicitors to spend some time near the end of their training programmes in our Belfast or London offices or on secondment to leading law firms in London and Boston or in-house with clients of the firm. We also arrange for some of our incoming trainee solicitors to spend time working in top-tier law firms or with our clients in London and New York before they begin their training with us.
support and guidance
Arthur Cox is a team-based environment and our trainee solicitors are an integral part of our legal team. Whatever your assignment, you will have constant support, advice and guidance from the partners and solicitors that you work with. The partners you are assigned to will monitor your work and will be available to discuss your ongoing development and objectives. In addition, the Director of the Trainee Programme is always available to discuss your progress and any queries you may have in relation to your training programme. An appraisal takes place at the end of each rotation period. Together with your supervising partners you will have the opportunity to discuss your appraisal and your professional progress.
Our trainee solicitor programme is based on our complete dedication to your personal training and development. It is designed to make you the most skilled lawyer that you can be.
