For many years, Nick has been involved in the following areas:
- Advising and representing the medical and dental professions and An Bord Altranais (the Nursing Board) for more than two decades
- Advising, more recently, the Mental Health Commission and the HSE
- Representing the medical profession and the nursing regulatory body in the leading cases before the High and Supreme Courts
- Advising extensively in all recent medical tribunals/inquiries, including: the Lindsay Tribunal, the Dunne Post Mortem/Organ Retention Inquiry, the Lourdes Hospital Inquiry, and the Commission of Investigation into the Dublin Archdiocese
- Advising healthcare clients for more than two decades in many areas, including codes of conduct, professional conduct and inquiries, the issues of consent and confidentiality, childcare issues, clinical trials, risk management and ethical issues
- Advising for almost two decades on childcare law and extensive advice in the area of child abuse, including Residential Institutions Redress Board, civil litigation, criminal aspects and the Commission to Inquire into Child Abuse
- Advising individual organisations, including hospitals and voluntary bodies who are involved in health and childcare law
