Prior to joining the firm, Maura worked for Linklaters’ London office. Maura is part of the corporate team, regularly advising on public and private M&A, equities and capital markets, corporate reorganisations and corporate governance/regulatory work. She advises listed, public and private companies, both international and domestic, on these issues and on a broad range of commercial work. In addition, Maura has considerable experience of acting for investors and investees in venture capital / private equity transactions, and of advising State and semi-State bodies on commercial and governance matters.

  • Advising the Irish Government on the recapitalisation and subsequent nationalisation of Anglo Irish Bank
  • Advising Sparkassen und Giroverband Hessen - Thüringen on its acquisition of Naspa Dublin
  • Advising Aer Lingus in defending a hostile takeover bid from Ryanair in 2008
  • Advising Progress Software Corporation on its acquisition of IONA Technologies plc
  • Advising Landesbank Baden – Würtemberg on the first cross-border merger pursuant to Directive 2005/56/EC to be completed in Ireland
  • Advising Paddy Power on its expansion into Northern Ireland by acquiring D McGranaghan Limited
  • Advising Nexgen Financial Holdings Limited on a €57 billion reduction of capital
  • Advising JSC Severstal on its successful takeover offer for Celtic Resources Holdings plc
  • Advising Hypo Real Estate Holding AG on its acquisition of Depfa Bank plc by way of a scheme of arrangement
  • Advising TVC Holdings plc on a placing and its admission to IEX and AIM
  • Advising Stornoway Limited, a company jointly owned by management and Alchemy Partners, on its acquisition of Calyx Group plc by way of a scheme of arrangement
  • Advising Aer Lingus in defending a hostile takeover bid from Ryanair in 2006
  • Advising Aer Lingus on its initial public offering and admission to the official lists of the Irish and London Stock Exchanges
  • Advising Calyx Group plc on its acquisition of the Matrix Companies, a reverse takeover, and listing on the IEX market of the Irish Stock Exchange
  • Advising Fyffes plc on the demerger of its property undertaking to Blackrock International Land plc, and the admission of Blackrock to IEX and AIM
  • Advising Landsbanki Íslands hf on its acquisition of Merrion Capital Group Limited
  • Advising Weyerhaeuser Company on the disposal of Weyerhaeuser Europe Limited
  • Advising Jurys Doyle Hotel Group plc on the recommended mandatory takeover offer for the company by JDH Acquisitions plc
  • Advising Inter-Tel, Inc. on its acquisition of Lake Communications
