Geoff is a partner in the Corporate Department. He specialises in corporate finance, advising on public offerings, private placements, mergers and acquisitions (both public and private) and Stock Exchange matters. He also advises on corporate governance matters. Prior to joining Arthur Cox, Geoff worked with the Law Reform Commission of Ireland. He apprenticed at Arthur Cox, following which he practiced in the Corporate Finance Group of a leading New York firm. He rejoined Arthur Cox in 2002. | Practice Areas |
In recent years, Geoff has:
- advised Johnson & Johnson on its $885 million investment in Elan Corporation, plc and on its related acquisition of assets related to the Alzheimer's Immunotherapy Program from Elan
- advised FEXCO on the €124 million disposal of its money transfer business to Western Union
- advised Bord Gáis Éireann on the acquisition of Sorne Wind, a 32 megawatt capacity windfarm
- advised Viridian Power and Energy on the acquisition of Eco Wind Power, the owner of five operation windfarms and 14 pipeline projects
- advised eircom on the €155 million disposal of its masts portfolio to Towercom Holdings
- advised the Cleary & Doyle Group on the disposal of its builders providers business
- advised Experian in relation to its demerger from the GUS group and establishment as the second largest Irish resident company by market capitalisation
- advised Fyffes plc in relation to the demerger of its property and produce undertakings and the subsequent admission to listing of each of Blackrock International Land plc and Total Produce plc on IEX and AIM
