Fiona is a partner in the firm’s EC and Competition practice group. She regularly advises clients on the EC and Irish merger control aspects of mergers and acquisitions and has been involved in some of the leading mergers involving Irish companies over recent years. In addition to advising clients on transactional work, Fiona advises companies under investigation by the Irish Competition Authority and the European Commission and is involved in the preparation and implementation of competition law compliance programmes for a number of clients. - Advising Reox Holdings and Breeo Foods on the Irish merger control aspects of the disposal of Breeo to the Kerry Group
- Advising UTV plc on the Irish merger control aspects of the acquisition of its competitor, FM104
- Advising Aer Lingus in respect of the Irish merger control and competition law aspects of two hostile takeover bids from Ryanair
- Advising Aer Lingus on regulatory aspects of its initial public offering to the official lists of the Irish and London Stock Exchanges
- Advising UGC (now Liberty Global Inc) on its acquisition of NTL Ireland
- Advising Grafton Group plc on its takeover of Heiton
- Advising First Active on its takeover by Royal Bank of Scotland
- Advising MCD promotions in relation to an investigation carried out by the Competition Authority
- Advising Greenstar Recycling Holdings in relation to an investigation carried out by the Competition Authority
- Advising Aer Rianta (now Dublin Airport Authority) in relation to an investigation carried out by the Competition Authority between 2001 and 2004
- Advising News International on bringing a successful complaint to the Competition Authority concerning the Joint National Readership Research Survey
- Advising a number of clients in relation to compliance programmes
- Advising a number of clients in relation to dawn raids undertaken by the Competition Authority
