Eve is a partner in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group. She specialises in commercial litigation and advises on a wide range of commercial disputes with particular emphasis on contractual matters, banking and financial services, professional negligence of accounting firms and other financial service providers and shareholder disputes. Eve also has considerable experience in advising clients on EU regulatory matters and has represented clients before various Tribunals and Inquiries. Eve has extensive experience leading multiparty disputes before the Commercial division of the High Court and dealing with large scale discovery processes and electronic discovery. Eve has also advised and represented clients in examinations and discovery matters under the Foreign Tribunal (Evidence) Act in civil proceedings in the US. Eve has been involved in a number of high profile cases including:
- Representing clients before the Tribunal into Deposit Interest Retention Tax (D.I.R.T.)
- Representing the applicant in judicial review proceedings against the Commission for Aviation Regulation
- Representing over 40 Irish Bookmakers in an intellectual property dispute against the British Horseracing Board in proceedings before the Commercial Court division of the High Court
- Representing the receiver in complex and multiple proceedings involving claims for damages in excess of €100 million relating to directors loan, mortgages, charges and guarantees
- Representing a national farmers association in successfully obtaining an interlocutory injunction suspending enforcement of an EU Regulation, which had already been passed into Irish law
- Representing a number of clients in complex disputes involving interpretation of EU Regulations, including a number of referrals to the European Court of Justice under Article 234 of the EU Treaty
- Representing a number of professional indemnity insurers in defending significant professional negligence actions
- Acting in a number of high profile and significant rating disputes both before the Valuation Tribunal and High Court including acting for Westlink Limited and Celtic Roads Group (Dundalk) Limited in respect of the rating of the tolls relating to the Westlink Toll Facility in Dublin and tolls relating to a section of the M1 motorway, acting for the Minister for Communications in respect of rating of metropolitan area networks system (MANS broadband) and acting for the Injuries Board and other bodies in relation to a claim for exemption from rates
