Prior to joining Arthur Cox, Conor was a tax partner at international law firm Linklaters for over thirteen years. Conor advises on the tax aspects of a wide range of international and domestic mergers and acquisitions, financial products, repackagings and structured finance, banking, capital markets, investment funds, corporate recovery, insolvency, restructuring and other areas. Conor is also chair of the firm's US Group.

Practice Areas

A selection of recent deals that Conor has advised on include:

  • The demerger from Gus Plc and public listing of Experian Group and migration of its holding company to Ireland.
  • The migration of Warner Chilcott Group to Ireland and the acquisition by it of the Global Pharmaceutical Business of Proctor & Gamble.
  • The migration of James Hardie to Ireland and the formation of a European SE as its holding company.
  • The cross border merger of the Sachsen Bank in Ireland (SLBE) with Landesbank Baden-Württemberg in Germany.
  • Advising the Irish government and Department of Finance on the creation of the National Asset Management Agency (NAMA), the recapitalisation of Irish banks and the taking into public ownership of Anglo Irish Bank.
