Claire has worked in Planning and Environmental Law since qualification and spent a year on secondment to the Environmental Policy Division of the Department of Environment in Northern Ireland drafting environmental legislation.

She has particular extensive knowledge of the waste and water sector including both defending and bringing prosecutions. Her experience in commercial practice has given her the opportunity to work with and for public authorities as well as private individuals and companies in interpreting environmental legislation and putting it into practice. Claire has led clients through the planning and environmental maze of IPPC, waste management licence and regulatory compliance. She successfully defended the first Crown Court case and retrial for an illegal landfill site in Northern Ireland.

Claire also specialises in liquor licensing dealing with all types of applications and premises. Through her extensive judicial review experience she has acted for all parties namely appellants, respondents and notice parties.
