Arthur Cox Wins Two Prestigious European Awards

Arthur Cox re-affirmed its place among Europe’s top law firms by taking home two prestigious awards at the Managing Partners’ Forum 2008 European Practice Management Awards held in the Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square, London last night.  Arthur Cox was the European winner of ‘Mould-breaking Initiative’ and the ‘Best HR Initiative’.

The ‘Mould-breaking Initiative’ award was presented to Arthur Cox in recognition of their new Blue Euro System.  This unique billing system ensures that non-client work is recognised on an equal footing with client work.  This innovation is recognition by the partnership of Arthur Cox that non-chargeable matters are the building blocks of the firm.

Arthur Cox was also presented with the award for ‘Best HR Initiative’ for the firm’s commitment to their staff.  The work conducted by their HR team and the execution of their comprehensive HR strategy has created a committed, engaged and effective workforce and has resulted in a significant improvement in their financial results.

Pádraig Ó Ríordáin, Managing Partner of Arthur Cox, said “A firm is only as good as its staff and I am delighted that our HR management and the firm as a whole are being recognised with this award. In the current climate, more than ever, we feel that having a committed and professional team is crucial to the success of our firm.”

Judging the awards is the responsibility of a panel of 30 senior management consultants and experts based in the UK, Europe, North America and Australia.

Arthur Cox has a history of successes at the MPF European Practice Management Awards.  In 2007 Arthur Cox also won two awards taking home the titles of ‘Best Managed Firm’ and ‘Best Corporate Citizen’.

These two awards come in a very successful year for Arthur Cox.  In January, the firm was named the top Irish law firm, by Mergermarket, the independent international M&A intelligence publisher.

Arthur Cox is widely regarded as the leading law firm in Ireland.  It employs 300 lawyers and a total staff in excess of 550, with offices in Dublin, Belfast, London and New York.
