Arthur Cox Selects New Managing Partner


Thursday 15 September 2011: Arthur Cox has today announced that Brian O’Gorman (42) has been chosen to be the next Managing Partner of the firm.  With effect from 1 November, Brian will succeed Pádraig Ó Ríordáin who will resume full time client work following completion of his two terms as Managing Partner.

Brian O’Gorman is a corporate partner at Arthur Cox and is a member of the firm’s Management Committee. A graduate of Trinity College, Brian joined the firm in 1999 having trained and worked at a leading law firm in London. He became a partner in the firm a year later, in 2000.

Eugene McCague, Chairman of the firm, said: “I would like to congratulate Brian on his appointment as our new Managing Partner. Brian was selected by his peers to lead the firm which is a great accolade and we all wish him well as he embarks on this new role.”

Brian O’Gorman said: “Over the past eight years Pádraig has combined leading the firm during a period of great development and change, with more recently also playing a role of national importance in advising on the legal responses to the country’s financial crisis. I am very honoured to have been chosen to succeed him.”
