Arthur Cox named M&A Legal Adviser of the Year for Ireland

Arthur Cox was named M&A Legal Adviser of the Year for Ireland at last night’s Mergermarket European M&A Awards 2019 in London. The awards recognise excellence in corporate, private equity, banking and legal M&A expertise across a number of European jurisdictions.
Commenting on the award the Managing Partner of Arthur Cox, Geoff Moore, said: “We are very pleased that our M&A team has been recognised for its innovative advisory work on some of the most transformative Irish and cross-border deals over the past year. This is the tenth time in 12 years that the firm has received this award and is a testament to the experience of our team and its position in the market in recent years”.
Deals led by the Arthur Cox M&A team in 2019 include advising: Flutter Entertainment plc (formerly Paddy Power Betfair plc) on its all-share combination with Stars Group; Green REIT on all aspects of its takeover by Henderson Park following a multi-phase global public M&A auction process for the company; Allergan plc on its pending $63 billion merger with Abbvie; Ingersoll Rand on the $15 billion combination of its industrial business with Gardner Denver, the first Reverse Morris Trust involving an Irish company; and Mediahuis NV on its €145.6 million takeover of Independent News & Media plc.
