Arthur Cox Appoints New Partners


Arthur Cox is pleased to announce the appointment of two new partners to the firm.  Based in Dublin, they are Jennifer McCarthy (Insurance) and Gill Woods (Employment).

In her practice Jennifer McCarthy advises both domestic and international clients on all aspects of insurance law and regulation, including advising on the establishment of an Irish carrier; on-going prudential requirements and the provision of insurance on a cross-border basis. Jennifer has advised extensively on portfolio transfers, court-sanctioned amalgamations and transfers of insurance and reinsurance business and notifiable acquisitions and disposals in Irish insurers and reinsurers.  Jennifer also advises on distribution arrangements, outsourcing in the insurance sector and reinsurance and retrocession arrangements.

Working on advisory and contentious aspects of the employment relationship, Gill Woods advises and negotiates on behalf of clients on termination of employment and contractual issues such as remuneration and employee entitlements. Gill represents employers in disputes such as unfair dismissal and discrimination claims and advises clients on employment law aspects of commercial transactions, internal and strategic reorganisations, compliance and policy.
