Mark is a consultant in the Real Estate Group. He specialises in all aspects of commercial property including development, construction, property finance, commercial landlord and tenant and investment acquisitions and disposals.


Recent transactions that Mark has advised on include the following:

  • Advising the IRFU/Aviva Stadium Company on certain aspects of the development of the Aviva Stadium including in particular the interface with CIE
  • Advising Dublin Institute of Technology on property law issues concerning consolidation of DIT Campus at Grangegorman to include advice concerning the drafting of legislation for the establishment of the Grangegorman Development Agency and also coordinating title audit of the existing DIT portfolio in contemplation of sale/disposal
  • Advising Musgraves on property aspects of its acquisition of the Superquinn Group
  • Assisting the National Treasury Management Agency, Department of Finance and Attorney Generals Office in the drafting of the National Asset Management Agency Act 2009
  • Assisting the National Asset Management Agency in the drafting of the template legal due diligence report for Participating Institutions
  • Heading the Arthur Cox teams advising the National Asset Management Agency on the management of several major NAMA connections
  • Advising Kennedy Wilson on the acquisition of the State Street Headquarter Building and adjoining site at Sir John Rogerson’s Quay, Dublin, the Alto Vetro Building, Dublin and in respect of several other asset/loan acquisitions and/or the financing thereof
  • Advising Blackstone on the acquisition of the Burlington Hotel Dublin and the office portfolio comprised in Project Platinum and in respect of several other “off market” transactions
  • Advising Red Carnation Hotel Group on the acquisition of Ashford Castle and Lisloughrey Lodge Cos Mayo/Galway
  • Advising Davy on the disposal of the Jurys Inn Hotel, Parnell Street Dublin, the acquisition of the Harcourt Building, Dublin and the FÁS headquarter Building at Mespil Road, Dublin
  • Advising Dublin Airport Authority on the acquisition of the Clarion Hotel, Dublin Airport and generally on real estate issues at Dublin and Cork Airports
  • Advising Brehon Capital Partners and Midwest Holdings on the acquisition of the former Ritz Carlton Hotel, Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow and the Marker Hotel and Residences at Grand Canal Square, Dublin
  • Advising Ryde Property Investments on the disposal of No. 1 Grand Canal Square, Dublin

 Mark has acted as external examiner to the Law School of the Law Society of Ireland in the area of Landlord and Tenant Law.

Mark is a regular contributor to Law Society CPD Seminars on Commercial Leases.

Mark is a Commissioner (non-executive board member) of Irish Lights the statutory body which is the General Lighthouse Authority for the Island of Ireland, its adjacent seas and islands.

Mark was named Property Lawyer of the Year in Ireland 2014 by Corporate Intl Magazine Global Award
