Expertise

Darragh is a partner in the Firm’s Finance Group and has broad experience of a diverse range of financing transactions including development, fund, real estate, warehouse and acquisition financings. Darragh acts for both borrowers and funders, with a particular emphasis on borrower clients and on private equity and investment bank funder clients. He has also advised a wide range of clients on the buy-side and the sell-side of bank deleveraging transactions (both performing and non-performing).

Experience

  • Advises various large international corporates (including Valeant Pharmaceuticals, Dell Inc., Stratus Technologies and Pentair plc) in connection with all Irish aspects of senior credit and bond financings.
  • Advises various international financial institutions (in their capacity as agents and arrangers of facilities) in connection with all Irish aspects of senior credit facilities, e.g. advised Bank of America, N.A. (as Agent) in connection with all Irish aspects of facilities to Avago Technologies funding its acquisition of Broadcom.
  • Advised Starwood Capital and Hibernia REIT plc on all aspects of the development financing of a large mixed-use real estate project.
  • Advised Starwood Capital on the financing of the acquisition by a newly established ICAV of an Irish property portfolio.
  • Advised Allied Irish Banks, p.l.c. in connection with the financing of the acquisition of the Radisson Hotel, Galway.
  • Advised NatWest Markets on all aspects of a warehouse facility financing the establishment of a CRE lending platform in Ireland.
  • Advised Nomura International PLC and BAWAG P.S.K. in connection with the financing of Cerberus’ acquisition of a large Irish loan portfolio.
  • Advised Oaktree Capital Management LP in connection with the financing of its acquisition of various non-Irish property and loan portfolios.
  • Advised various purchasers (incl. Goldman Sachs International and CarVal Investors) on the purchase of multiple residential and CRE NPL portfolios.
  • Advised Capvest Associates LLC and Valeo Foods in connection with: (a) the financing of the acquisition of various targets including Jacobs Biscuits (Project Joyce 2011), Rowse Honey (Project String 2014) and Kenco Coffee / Kelkin (Project Tardis 2014 / 2015); and (b) the group’s general corporate facilities.
  • Advised Goldman Sachs International in relation to the restructuring of significant corporate facilities secured on hotels and other property assets in Ireland.
