Experience

Transactions in which Ciarán Bolger has advised in recent years included acting for the following:

  • Blackstone on its acquisition of Harbourmaster (a fund management business)
  • GE Capital on the sale of its residential mortgage loan business to Pepper Home Loans/ Goldman Sachs
  • NTMA on the transfer of the deposits of Anglo Irish Bank and Irish Nationwide Building Society to AIB and Irish Life and Permanent plc respectively (€13 billion)
  • Goldfields S.A. on its tender offer for Glencar Mining plc
  • Glanbia plc on the sale of its Dairy Ingredients Ireland division to a joint venture with its major shareholder Glanbia Co-operative Society Limited (€170 million)
  • Vodafone Ireland on a joint venture agreement with ESB for the installation of fibre optic cables on ESB’s power networks
  • Valeo Foods Group (a private equity backed group) on its acquisitions of Batchelors, Odlums and Jacob Fruitfield, creating a business with a turnover of more than €300 million
  • NTR plc on the grant back to the National Roads Authority of the West-Link concession and subsequent securitisation with Morgan Stanley (circa €500 million)
  • Airtricity on its sale to Scottish and Southern Energy plc (€1.8 billion)
  • Green REIT plc on its external management arrangements with Green Property
  • Applegreen plc on its IPO in 2015
  • Fyffes plc, on the takeover offer by Sumitomo Corporation announced in December 2016.
