The New Irish Public Works Contracts

• Finally, after nearly three years of consultation and discussion, the Government Construction Contract Committee (“GCCC”) has published
  a suite of five new forms of construction contracts for Public Works, comprising traditional (employer designed) and design and build
  contracts for civil engineering and building works, together with a minor works contract, to be used for all public works. The five contracts are:
  
  1. Building Works Designed by the Employer
  2. Building Works Designed by the Contractor
  3. Civil Engineering Works Designed by the Employer
  4. Civil Engineering Works Designed by the Contractor
  5. Minor Civil Engineering and Building Works Designed byEmployer (for building works and civil engineering valued at e5
  million or below)
  
  Parallel to the development of these new forms of construction contracts,standard Conditions of Engagement for Construction Consultants have also been developed.
